Normally, I’m not one to hang out in midtown or Hells Kitchen. It’s too crowded and very often the cafes feel impersonal and are aimed at tourists. One of my friends convinced me to come to her neck of the woods and give her favorite cafe a try.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into REX was the amazing artwork on the far left wall and the wall of windows with views of 10th avenue. I did find the shop rather small when we first walked in, but we found a spot within minutes because most people come here to get a cup of coffee on the go. There are two bigger tables and you can definitely spot the NYC regulars working on their laptops typing away.
The staff is friendly and feels familiar even though I’d never been there before. They were nice enough to let me take a few pictures as my friend chatted to the girl behind the counter. Definitely a place you need to hit up next time you’re in Hells Kitchen.
