It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s also the most expensive time of the year. Presents, decorations, too much candy and eating out every night can add up. December is an expensive month. I feel like it’s just a fact we’ve all come to accept a long time ago.
This doesn’t mean I stop sneaking into stores and buying stuff for myself though. Like most people do, I like wearing something different to each holiday party. Without spending too much money that is. Even though I would prefer to purchase an entire new wardrobe for every season – A closet full of clothes with nothing to wear sounds all too familiar to me. I usually am able to create party looks by incorporating something old with something new. All of the looks for today’s post consist of pieces that were already present in my wardrobe, plus 1 new item.
I’m in love with the pleated silver skirts that are currently in all the stores (and now also in my closet). Since it’s a very flashy item that I might not were too often, I didn’t want to splurge too much. I picked up mine from H&M since it’s a store that has all the latest trends but is still reasonably priced.
Even though I always make sure I look nice before leaving for an event, I also make sure I am never cold. I’d rather be dancing or chatting the night away than shivering. This is why I always make sure to bring layers that look good on, but can also easily be peeled off. Whether it’s a coat, a sweater or a thick scarf, I’m always up for fuzzy winter items.
Let me know what your go-to holiday looks are and how you stay warm.
Happy holidays everyone!
